drug-overdose-mfThe AP has recently report Kroger will begin making the anti-overdose drug, naloxone available without a prescription in its pharmacies across Ohio and northern Kentucky, a region hard-hit by deadly heroin. Jeff Talbot, Kroger vice president of merchandising, said in a statement,

“We want families dealing with addiction to know that they can count on having the drug available in the event that they need it”

We have seen such recent action, by local authorities in the state of Connecticut, issuing emergency responders with Narcan to combat overdose deaths.

Detox from heroin or opiates, can be deadly. The safest avenue, is to consult and admit into a medical detox facility. As the war on drugs continue, and the availability of prescription medication continues to receive a “crack down”, will the next logical drug of choice be heroin for suburban America???
